Bulgarian Seaside

Long, sandy beaches and fine weather reel holidaymakers into Bulgaria’s Black Sea resorts each summer. Bulgarian inlanders are helplessly drawn to the freshening sea breeze and miles of turquoise water. Foreign visitors, too, are wise to Bulgaria’s coast, thanks to gorgeous seaside resorts. Even the coast's two big cities, Varna and Burgas, have attractive beaches within minutes of their urban hearts. And while Sozopol, Nessebar and other favourites are thoroughly developed, there are still plenty of undiscovered coves north and south of the major hubs.

Sozopol

Ancient Sozopol, with its charming old town of meandering cobbled streets and pretty wooden houses, huddled together on a narrow peninsula, is one of the coast’s highlights. With two superb beaches, a genial atmosphere, plentiful accommodation and good transport links, it has long been a popular seaside resort and makes an excellent base for exploring the area. There's a lively cultural scene, too, with plenty of free concerts and other events in summer.

Lozenets

Lozenets is a small village and seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast situated 60 km south of Burgas. In the last few years this small paradise site has been attracting many tourists who want to escape the big and nosy commercial resorts. The village has a long and picturesque beach with two campsites situated nearby. The proximity of Strandzha mountain makes the resort an ideal place for relaxation.

Sinemorets

This village is in the far southeastern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, close to the Turkish border. It's right on the sea, next to the picturesque Veleka River.
Sinemorets is an attractive vacation destination, thanks to its pristine natural beauty and excellent beaches. It is very close to the Strandzha Nature Reserve, a cool retreat on hot summer days with many trails leading to natural and historical points of interest.
The village has two beaches – The Bytamyata Beach and the beach at the mouth of the Veleka River. Also, a short distance away is one Bulgaria’s most scenic beaches, Silistar.

Nesebar

The old town of Nessebar is a museum town with a unique atmosphere and historically valuable churches. On its tiny peninsula on the Black Sea coast, Nessebar looks like Bulgaria's picture postcard motif par excellence. And even on closer inspection, the pretty little town is bursting with beautifully restored houses and cultural-historical national treasures. As a museum city and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, the old town of Nessebar is a must on the itinerary of every holiday in Bulgaria.

Pomorie

The town of Pomorie, situated on a rocky peninsula, was founded in IV century B.C. near a salt lake considered 'sacred' by the ancient Thracians because of its healing powers. Pomorie once rivaled Nessebar in antiquity and architecture but was mostly destroyed by fire in 1906. There are still interesting things to see in the town with its occasional cobblestone streets and traditional wooden houses. Pomorie is ideal for anyone who like to relax and get away from the busy beaches and is an attractive place for year round recreation and various health treatments.

Chernomorets

Chernomorets is situated in a beautiful bay between Burgas and Sozopol. The town is an established resort, which is visited by many tourists. The rocky coastline of beach of Chernomorets provides secluded spots for swimming, sun bathing and fishing. One of the finest beaches in the region is just south of town at the Gradina campground.
